Our Story

Gisu Safaris, became a legally registered company in Uganda in December, 2024, marking the formal beginning of our operations as a recognized tourism and conservation brand.

However, our journey began long before our official registration. About a year and a half prior, we operated as a small, family-driven initiative led by passionate conservationists and wildlife experts. During this period, we were already organizing private safaris, community-based tourism experiences, and conservation awareness activities — but without a formal legal structure.

This formative period was essential.

• Build strong partnerships with local communities and conservation agencies.
• Develop expertise in Uganda’s tourism landscape.
• Create a service model centered on sustainability, authenticity, and traveler satisfaction.

By the time we became fully legal, we had already established the foundation of our operations, refined our safari itineraries, and earned the trust of our first international clients.

Today, Gisu Safaris is one of Uganda’s fastest-growing safari companies, with operations expanding into Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. While our main focus remains Uganda, our growing network and partnerships allow us to offer travelers an authentic East African safari experience.
